This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information when you use our Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. By using IA Lock you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Unless otherwise defined here, terms follow our User Agreement.
1. Commitment to privacy
At IA Lock we believe that the less information we know about you, the better. Information that is never collected cannot be lost, misused, or abused.
2. Information we process
For a better experience we may request limited, personally identifiable information. Any such data remains on your device (or in iCloud if you enable it) and is not uploaded to our servers. The app integrates Apple services and other third parties who may collect identifiers as described in their policies.
3. Function information
The app stores PIN codes, app selections, and schedule metadata inside your device’s shared App Group container so that IA Lock and its extensions can enforce your rules. Files you manage stay local unless you explicitly export them.
4. Automatically processed information
Anonymous diagnostics such as device type or feature usage may be processed to improve the service. This aggregate data does not identify individual users and helps us ensure the app continues to operate correctly.
5. Payment information
All purchases are handled through Apple’s StoreKit. Apple manages billing and tokenized payment details; IA Lock only receives product identifiers and transaction results. When a subscription succeeds we write the expiration timestamp to the local App Group container so background extensions can validate entitlement without contacting external servers. We never access your credit or debit card information.
6. Permissions on your device
- Screen Time (FamilyControls / DeviceActivity): required to read the apps you authorize and to schedule lock or hide sessions.
- Notifications: used for secure unlock prompts so you can input the PIN without reopening the app.
- Motion & Fitness: only used when you enable the “rotate to home” quick exit feature to detect face-down gestures.
- Network access: required for StoreKit product retrieval, purchase validation, and trusted time services that keep subscription status accurate.
You can manage permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Denying a permission simply limits the related feature while the rest of the app continues to function.
7. How we use information
We do not collect personal information for our own storage. Submitted data and automatically processed diagnostics are used solely to deliver requested services, personalize experience, and refine app quality.
8. Third-party disclosure
We do not store personal information on our servers, sell it, or share it with third parties beyond the processors required to deliver the functionality described above.
9. Safety
We follow industry standards to protect data in transit and at rest within your device, regularly reviewing our practices against unauthorized access, disclosure, or destruction.
